Sarah will be exhibiting paintings that play with our traditional perspective of space and process. In an effort to explain the development of this body of work, McKenzie notes:
The generic forms of suburban architecture provide a convenient framework through which I explore the basic structures and issues of geometric abstraction -- stripes, grids, flatness vs. depth, color relativity, and so forth. Many of my recent works are marked by distinct moments of visual rupture, where the picture as a whole becomes fragmented.
Rule Gallery is locted at 227 Broadway, Denver, Colorado. Concrete/Abstract will be exhibited from November 19th, 2010 until January 1st, 2011.
